Math ForumActivity of the Month |
This project began during our Advanced Institute in the summer of 1996. After a couple of wonderful activities, the project was discontinued. The Math Forum, as a research and development entity, experiments with many ideas. We are always testing new models for doing math education on the Internet. While some activities benefit from an enormous amount of our attention and energy (like Ask Dr. Math!), others don't.
We have limited resources and must focus them in a finite number of directions. However, we like to think that great projects like the Activity of the Month might be picked up by other individuals or organizations. Let us know if this interests you.
Activities:
- September, 1996: Traffic Jam
- October, 1996: Magic Squares
Both activities include:
- suggestions for teachers or student activity leaders,
- examples of approaches to the activity,
- ways to share what you do and learn,
- and other embellishments (such as Java Applets).
