Alice Hamilton - Book Report Summary

Alice Hamilton was born on February 27, 1869. Alice lived in New York. She went to the University of Michigan to study medicine. As she got older she went to Harvard. She was the first female to go to Harvard and teach stuff about medicine. A person who studies medicine like Alice did is that they check medicine, like if it's the right prescription. She also went to Germany to study this. She liked playing doctor when she was little. I guess that helped her like being a medicine teacher. In Alice's childhood she was very poor, but as she became a medicine doctor she got paid from her job. She got rich but she didn't care about money, she cared about people. She wanted to make sure patients appreciated her. She was very proud of her work. As the time went by she got older and older and she decided to retire. She retired in her beginning 60's. Then when the years passed she died. Alice died when she was 101 years old. Alice died on September 22, 1970. I think she lived a long and very happy life.
