Dee O'Hara was born in Nampa, Idaho in 1935. Her family was a small family. She has one brother, a mother and her father. Dee had to move a few times because her dad, Mike O'Hara, didn't get used to his job or the area where he worked. When she was 4 years old her family moved to San Francisco. Dee's dad didn't get used to the city. They moved from San Francisco to Oregon. Dee didn't know what she wanted to be until she was in high school. Almost to the end of high school a guest speaker came to the school from Providence Hospital. All she knew was she liked to offer help and she worked well with others. She filled out an application to Providence and went to an interview so she can get into a Providence Hospital School of Nursing. After the interview when she got home something terrible happened. The terrible thing was that when she got home she heard on the T.V. that somebody was crushed by something. Where the person was crushed was where her dad worked. She hoped it wasn't her father that died, but it was her dad that died. A letter cam for Dee. It was a letter saying Dee was accepted to Providence. She had a hard time deciding to leave her brother and mother. She ended up going to Providence. She went for a long time and then she graduated. She got a nursing job and after awhile working her boss told her she had been chosen to work on the Mercury Project. The Mercury Project was a success. Then she went to work for a Manned Space Center because she wanted to work. She had helped a lot of astronauts. That is a summary of Dee O'Hara's life. She maybe still is alive now.
