Sasha Corina Craig

Elizabeth Blackwell was born on February 3, 1821. She was the first woman to get a medical degree in the United States. Elizabeth went to Geneva College in 1849 to be a doctor. Elizabeth went back to New York in 1851 but she was not able to practice medicine for several years because no institution would hire her. After she privately studied with male doctors who supported her cause, Elizabeth applied to medical school throughout the Northeaster United States including Harvard, Yale and Bawdin.
