How to Set Up a Multicultural Math Fair

Activities || Math Fair Links || Interdisciplinary Links

There are many ways that these Multicultural Math Fair Activities can be used in the classroom, but if your school would like to set up a schoolwide Fair the following directions may be helpful.
  1. Select a location.
  2. Arrange the room with tables, chairs, and computer equipment.
  3. Download all necessary programs or locate comparable software at your site. See page of Software for Activities.
  4. The mathematics teachers should agree on a schedule.
  5. Each teacher should prepare
  • Each station should be equipped with
    • Manipulatives and/or computer software, as stated in the materials requirements for each activity
    • Printed Activity Sheets for each station, laminated and set on or taped to the table.
    • Decorations, including a banner identifying the activity.
    • Enough copies of Data Sheets or Worksheets for groups of students to work.

Now you are ready for your students to enjoy a Multicultural Math Fair experience!
