Buckyball Speech

Back to Polyhedra Unit - Student
Activities

Students are challenged to stand up and, holding the buckyball
model, to describe it. They should name at least 6 characteristics using the
vocabulary they have been studying. They should explain both the characteristics of a truncated icosahedron and also carbon 60 (buckyball).
The audience is instructed to listen carefully, and to raise their hands
if they disagree with any of the characteristics described.
To receive points the speech must be mathematically accurate.
