   After watching Annie activate the pool ball in action, the group noticed:

   45 degree angles
   90 degree angles
   triangles
   squares
   symmetry
   parallel lines and alternate, exterior … all of those
   parallel

   Annie asked: What happened?

   there was a pattern in the way they did it

   Annie asked: When did it stop?

   went in the hole

   Annie asked: What was the applet doing for us?

   trace it
   made a 90 degree turn
   left a trap
   graph paper
   gave us the number of hits
   sound to listen to things
   track of the ball appears to be equal line segments
   mostly equal intervals
   like a numberline concept?
   doesn’t seem to slow down like a normal pool ball would

   Annie noted: 5 x 3 –> 8 hits

   Annie asked, what are you wondering? Participants responded:

   if there is a pattern
   how does area relate to # hits
   does every square pool table (1×1, 2×2, 3×3) has one hit.
   there are some that can’t?
   why does 5×5 have 8 hits?
   why is the initial position count as 1 hit?
   is there an easier way to adjust the dimensions
   do hits always result in a 45 degree angle
   do the number of triangles that are constructed equal # of hits?
   add the length and the width it equals the number of hits
