Here’s a special mid-week edition of our Free Scenarios. We’ll be handing out this scenario at the NCTM Regional Meeting in Atlantic City on Thursday and Friday of this week. ## Sports Weigh In

I notice that there the units are ounces, or oz.

I wonder why there are only 3 types of balls.

I wonder how many ounces is each ball.

I noticed that 28 and 22 are divisible by 2. 28 divided by 2 = 14 and 22 divided by 2 = 11. I wonder what would be the question and whats the answer.

I noticed that the baseball ball weighs more than a tennis ball.

I wonder how you would be able to find the weight of one soccer ball, tennis ball, and baseball.

I notice that for the “Sports Weigh In” problem, the soccer ball is on each weight balance. I also notice that each scale is weighed in ounces.

I wonder how many pounds is equal to the number of ounces on each of these scales.

I notice that there are 3 different types of balls, tennis balls, baseballs, and soccer balls. I notice that the soccer ball is less than 19 oz. I wonder how much the baseball and other balls weigh.

The sports weigh in is a scale consisting of 3 types of play balls.Soccer Balls,Baseballs and Tennis balls.

How can i find the weight of every individual type of ball? I’m almost certain the soccer ball is the heaviest and the tennis ball is lightest. The baseball is probably in the middle

I notice that there is no question. I also notice that the unit of measurement is ounces.

I wonder how much each individual tennis ball, baseball and soccer ball weighs. I also wonder how it would affect the scale if you removed a tennis ball soccer ball or baseball.

I notice that the the units are in oz. I also notice that the three different balls and that they are tennis balls, soccer balls, and baseballs. I wonder if to get the answer you have to multiply, divide, add, or subtract the three weights? I also wonder what you have to do to get the answer?

I notice that there is no question.

I also notice that there is 3 different types of balls in the scene.

I noticed that you need to know how to convert measurements.

I wonder how much each ball weighs. I also wonder what your suppose to do.

I wonder what would happen if I took each baseball away from each scale.

I notice that there isn’t any question also I notice the scene involves 3 different kinds of balls tennis ball, soccer ball, and baseball. I notice that you use ounces also there is a balance where the balls are getting weighed on. I also notice that a soccer ball weighs the most then baseball and then tennis ball

I wonder why there isn’t a question. I also wonder how you can find an equation or an answer.

I noticed that the scene involves 3 different types of balls.

I wonder what would happen if I took away 1 soccer ball away from each scale.

I notice that their are 3 scales with 3 objects on each scale. Also, every scale has a soccer ball. The scales are all of the same width and height, but each scale measures a different weight because no 3 scales have exactly the same objects on them, so they are all different weights.

I wonder how many pounds a tennis ball way, a soccer ball weighs, and how much a baseball weighs.

I notice that one tennis ball and one soccer ball together weigh 14 oz

I wonder how much a tennis ball and a baseball weigh together

I notice that the soccer ball weighs less than 19 ounces.

i wonder why the soccer ball is on each scale.

I notice that there are three different weights you can find out with trial and error. A soccer ball, a tennis ball, and a baseball.

I wonder what the ratios are for each ball compared to each of the other balls. Can we find the ratio just by looking at the picture?

I notice there are never the same amount of ounces or the same items on each scale. I also notice you will have to figure out how many ounces each item weighs most likely.

I wonder how many ounces is one soccer ball, one tennis ball, and one baseball.

I notice there are 3 types of balls. A soccer ball, baseball, and tennis ball.

I wonder how much each ball ways. I also wonder if you take one of the balls off of the scale how much would it affect it.

I noticed that there are losts of different wieghts and sizes that you can get.

I wonder how many tennis and baseballs equal a soccer ball?

I notice that 1 soccer ball and 1 tennis ball equals 14 oz. I know this from splitting the middle scale in half. I also notice that 2 baseballs and a soccer ball weighs more than 1 soccer ball, a tennis ball, and a baseball.

I wonder how many oz. are in 1 soccer ball and 1 baseball. I also wonder how you can find what each individual ball weighs.

I notice that the baseball weighs more than the tennis ball, but the soccer ball weighs more than the tennis ball and the baseball, also there are three different types of balls.

I wonder what the exact weight of each ball is, also I wonder if it would be easier to do the problem if you drew your own scale.
