short term project

Project Description:

Students from all over the world collect the price of a Big Mac from their local McDonald's restaurant, and submit it along with the address of the restaurant to our Web site. They can also post their location on a map page. We will post all of the results at the end of a 4 week period (Monday, May 8 - Friday, June 2). The map page can also be viewed by anyone, allowing viewers to see the locations of every participant in the project. The results of this project can be used for topics in math (i.e. exchange rates, statistical analysis), economics, geography, and other social studies topics at several grade levels (middle school and high school, even college classes could use this). This project was created and is being facilitated by three students at Baldwin-Wallace College currently seeking our MA's in Education Technology (as well as our teaching licenses). Please have a look at the Web site and sign up your class!
