Project Description:: Students use their knowledge of decimals to create a trip itinerary for a fake, but planned trip from the east coast to anywhere on the west coast of the U.S. Students use the internet in order to find the places they will be stopping along the way to their destination. They find the mileage from place to place, and then they find the total mileage. In addition, they look up prices of hotels where they are staying, places of interest they would like to visit, and restaurants that list prices of food online. By creating this trip itinerary, they are using and seeing decimals in the prices of food, hotels, admission tickets, mileage, etc. It is a lot of fun!
