- Solving problems the hard way [Fan, 11/21/1994]
In my math class the biggest problem for me right now is that when my teacher gives me a problem, I will end up using the harder way to solve it instead of the easy way. Some people can quickly tell what method to use will make the problem a lot easier. Sometimes the problem may be so simple that because of my method of using the hard way, I end up not able to solve it. I need help Dr. Math!!
- Math Applications and the Effect of Technology on Math [Bacia, 3/4/1995]
I'd like some suggestions for a project I'm doing on math applications that solve problems in the real world. Could you suggest three formulas that could be, or have been used to solve real world problems?
- Space and Aviation in Math [Chang, 3/3/1996]
I'm doing a research project and my topic is Space and Aviation Math - the math pilots need to know in order to get their wings and any formulas they need to memorize and also any problems that NASA may encounter in space that you need math to solve.

than a line?

I know the proof stating that 0.9 (repeating) is actually equal to one,
but from a representation standpoint are they actually considered to be
mathematically equal?

How can I show that the rationals are countable and the irrationals are
uncountable?
