Dr. Math is a project of the Math
Forum. It was begun in the fall of 1994 under the aegis of the Geometry
Forum, with the goal of providing prompt, accurate,
and educational answers to the math questions of K-12 students (usually
ages 5-18 in the United States). In the beginning the doctors were all
Swarthmore College students; however, as the program has evolved our staff
of Math Doctors has grown to include all sorts of people all over the
world.
Here is the original announcement that was sent out in 1994. It describes some of what the Dr. Math program is about. You might also enjoy reading some of the monthly newsletters sent to Math Doctors since 1998. ![]() That said, enjoy the tour of the Math Hospital.
