NewsHour Extra is part of the web site for the PBS program
NewsHour with Jim Lehrer. The news stories, written for
students, are arranged in broad subject categories. The
stories often contain related comprehension, research, and
essay questions.
In addition to the stories, there are sidebars with
suggestions for teachers, including related lesson plans
and ideas about how you might use a NewsHour Extra story in
a classroom. Other resources include related links in the
NewsHour site, external links, and articles written by
students.
