COOL SCHOOL TOOLS - MATH TOPIC OR GRADE LEVEL
http://www.coolschooltools.com/TFM-MathTopic.html
Math educator Tim Fahlberg has created a variety of
whiteboard movies. Requiring a Shockwave plug-in, the
movies cover these topics:
- 4th Grade Mathematics
- 7th Grade
- Intermediate Algebra (114 Movies)
- Integrated Math 2 (Algebra, Geometry, Probability &
Statistics)
- Algebra
- Probability
- Mathematics of Finance
A whiteboard movie (WM) is a multimedia screen recording of
writing on an electronic whiteboard (real or virtual) with
or without voice and/or subtititles. WMs can be
non-interactive, with playback controls similar to a VCR, or
interactive, requiring input from the viewer. WMs can also
be extended to include screen recordings of software
applications (On-screen calculators, Excel, Internet
Explorer, AutoCAD, etc).

AMS RELEASES LATEST MATHEMATICAL MOMENTS
http://www.ams.org/ams/mathmoments.html
Ever wonder how miles of film can fit on a disk less than
six inches across?
Or how the tiny fragments in an archaeological dig can be
reassembled?
Answers to these questions and more are in the American
Mathematical Society's latest Mathematical Moments, which
promote appreciation and understanding of the role
mathematics plays in science, nature, technology, and human
culture.
These introductory "snapshots" provide a handy, eye-catching,
and concise way to show the many applications of
mathematics -- in archaeology, data compression, CAT-scans,
architecture, modern fountain design, the portable
20 Questions game, bin packing, and machine translation -- to
audiences such as elected officials, students, parents and
school teachers and administrators.
