           Math Dance with Dr. Schaffer and Mr. Stern



  The Obelisk Applications Corporation describes their Facster
  site as "the facts at your fingertips." Search and browse
  tables of data from:

    - The Statistical Abstract of The United States
    - state statistical abstracts
    - foreign statistical abstracts
    - government agency, NGO, and corporate abstracts
    - other factual sources

  The home page updates every day to show facts based on current
  events ranging from holidays to sports contests to birthdays
  of famous people. Also, get random facts, and discuss Facster
  news and information in an online forum.

  The popular "Historical Series" includes tables of historical
  figures on topics such as:

    - Births to Teenagers and to Unmarried Women
    - High School Graduates, and College Enrollment and
    - Gross Domestic Product in Current and Real Dollars
    - National Air Pollutant Emissions
    - Personal Consumption Expenditures in Current and Real

  "for the learning of mathematics" is a journal that aims to
  stimulate reflection on mathematics education at all
  levels, and promote study of its practices and its theories:
  to generate productive discussion; to encourage enquiry and
  research; to promote criticism and evaluation of ideas and
  procedures current in the field.

  This international journal of mathematics education is
  published three times a year, in March, July, and November.

  The journal is published under the auspices of the Canadian
  Mathematics Education Study Group/Groupe Canadien d'Etude en
  Didactique des Mathematiques (CMESG/GCEDM).




  In hundreds of schools and conferences since 1987, The Dr.
  Schaffer & Mr. Stern Dance Ensemble has performed and
  conducted workshops on math dance. From that work,
  Co-Artistic Directors Karl Schaffer and Erik Stern wrote
  MathDance, a 132-page book with fellow artist Scott Kim.

  Their site presents some of their favorite math dance
  activities to use in classrooms, including:

    - Rotational Symmetry
    - The Four Basic Symmetries
    - String Polyhedra
