The Dynamic Classroom

The Center for Innovation in Engineering & Science Education (CIESE) is sponsoring another in its series of Technology in Mathematics Education (TIME) workshops July 17-19 at Stevens Institute of Technology, Hoboken, New Jersey.

The Dynamic Classroom is a three-day, 18-hour professional development program that provides teachers, technology coordinators, library media specialists, and administrators with the skills and knowledge to help students use technology effectively to better understand mathematics.

The workshop fee is $495. A flyer is available for download in PDF format:


The National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) recently re-designed its Illuminations website, improving navigation and graphics, as well as enhancing search features.

Resources are organized under these categories:

Explore their library of 68 online activities
View their collection of 503 lessons for PreK-12 mathematics educators
Learn about NCTM's Principles and Standards for School Mathematics

Hundreds of exemplary online resources have been identified by an editorial panel

Watch the Flash movie to orient yourself to the re-designed site. Use the new "Email-to-a-friend" link that appears in each section to share lessons and activities with others or email them to yourself for later reference.
