Applications are open until May 5 for our online workshop "Technology Tools for Thinking and Reasoning about Probability." There is no cost to the participants for this workshop. The $100 fee will be covered by a National Science Foundation (NSF) grant.
Teachers will investigate some mathematics topics common to middle school curricula within the theme of probability. In this context, we will explore the Math Tools digital library and several software tools that contribute to mathematical understanding, problem solving, reflection and discussion.

Recently, Stewart Lawrence contacted us saying, "I am an eighty year-old fractal artist who produces unique images. Please look at my website."
When we visited, we found the beautiful fractal images that Lawrence has made. View his 248 images one-by-one or start a slideshow to have them advance automatically.

The activities on this site were developed by Terry Kawas and the teachers in districts where she has worked as a math consultant and coach, or with students she has taught in college math-methods courses. The activities are classroom-tested by teachers, and appropriate modifications have been made to reflect this field-testing. All activities and worksheets support the constructivist approach to learning mathematics and the NCTM Standards.
Activities are organized under:
