Beacon Learning Center Lesson Plans

Beacon Learning Center is an online educational resource and professional development center funded through a grant from the U. S. Department of Education, 2000-2005. The resources posted in the Beacon database are products of professional development activities teaching a standards-based planning model.

Find lessons according to levels or keywords and browse unit plans using the links in the menu under "Teacher Solutions," or see a list of student web lessons under "Student Resources."

Math Central

Math Central is an Internet service for mathematics students and teachers. It is available in English, French, and Spanish.

The site includes:

  • Resource Room: teaching resources and glossaries
  • Quandaries and Queries: ask a question or search and browse answers
  • Mathematics with a Human Face: biographies and career information
  • Teachers' Bulletin Board: conferences, organizations, newsletters and periodicals

The site is maintained by faculty and students in Mathematics and Statistics and Mathematics Education at the University of Regina in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, with input from teachers, faculty, and students across Canada.
