Elementary School has almost written his answer in the form of
a 'T-Chart,' where you write what you did, as in calculations,
on one side of the chart, and on the other you write what you
thought, as in why you knew each calculation was a good idea.
I am slightly partial to Will's method because that's exactly
how I solved it!"

Summer Problems of the Week

While we get ready for another series of Problems of the Week
(PoWs) starting at the end of August, we'll scale back our
responses. But every two weeks from now until then, the Math
Forum will continue to post challenging word problems and
accept solutions to them.
Over the course of the recently concluded 2012-2013 academic
year, we posted a total of 120 Current PoWs, each with its own
supporting resources — a great starting point for designing
your own summer projects. If you have a Full PoW membership,
or access through your school or district, help yourself to the
Library Problems. For starters, we've highlighted a seasonal
selection in these pages before:

Developer with a mathematics education background.
This full-time position entails in-person and online mentoring
of KSTF Teaching Fellows, and working collaboratively with
experts in various aspects of science and mathematics education
to implement and evaluate a five-year comprehensive and
cohesive professional development experience for Fellows.
KSTF's ideal candidate has experience not just teaching high
school science or (preferably) mathematics, but also mentoring
beginning high school teachers, educating pre-service teachers,
