Zentralblatt Math Database MATHEMATRIX - Lee Stemkoski http://www.geocities.com/CapeCanaveral/Hangar/7773/index.html A site devoted to exploring mathematical recreations, some of the more entertaining and often lesser-known areas of mathematics, and offering a random math "quote of the moment" from a Mathematics and Computer Science major at Boston University. Topics include: - Bubbles - Mathematical Art - Conway's Game of Life - Mobius Strip - Flexagons - Nontransitive Dice - Fractals - Platonic Solids - Fundamental Theorems - Poetry - Happy Equations - Polyominoes - Higher Dimensions - Quotations - Humor and Comics - Soma Cube - Important Constants - Rubik's Cube - Juggling - Tangrams -|-\-/-|-\-/-|-\-/-|-\-/-|-\-/-|-\-/-|-\-/-|-\-/-|-\-/-|-\-/-|- MUDD MATH FUN FACTS - Francis E. Su Department of Mathematics, Harvey Mudd College http://www.math.hmc.edu/funfacts/ A site developed as a resource for professors wishing to enrich their courses with mathematical 'fun facts': more than a hundred math tidbits that can be used at the beginning of class to get students interested in mathematics. The site recommends that they be used in lower-division college courses such as calculus, but many would interest advanced high school students. On the site you can pull up a random fun fact, or search by subject, keyword, or level of difficulty. Tidbits range from Toggling Light Switches and the Ham Sandwich Theorem to Math Limericks and Music Math Harmony. Subjects to search include algebra, calculus/analysis, combinatorics, geometry, number theory, probability, and topology, or you can browse all subjects in one list. -|-\-/-|-\-/-|-\-/-|-\-/-|-\-/-|-\-/-|-\-/-|-\-/-|-\-/-|-\-/-|- ZENTRALBLATT MATH DATABASE - Springer-Verlag http://www.emis.de/ZMATH/ A database edited by the European Mathematical Society, the FIZ Karlsruhe, and the Heidelberg Academy of Sciences, and established in cooperation with Math Doc Cell (France). Search for abstracts of papers on any math subject by author, title, classification, source, reviewer, and publication year. In addition to the Berlin server, there are servers in three other locations: - Strasbourg http://www-irma.u-strasbg.fr/ZMATH/ - New York http://www.springer-ny.com/ZMATH/ - Lecce, Italy http://siba-sinmdb.unile.it/ZMATH/ -|-\-/-|-\-/-|-\-/-|-\-/-|-\-/-|-\-/-|-\-/-|-\-/-|-\-/-|-\-/-|- CHECK OUT OUR WEB SITE: The Math Forum http://mathforum.org/ Ask Dr. Math http://mathforum.org/dr.math/ Problems of the Week http://mathforum.org/pow/ Mathematics Library http://mathforum.org/library/ Teacher2Teacher http://mathforum.org/t2t/ Discussion Groups http://mathforum.org/discussions/ Join the Math Forum http://mathforum.org/join.forum.html Send comments to the Math Forum Internet Newsletter editors _o \o_ __| \ / |__ o _ o/ \o/ __|- __/ \__/o \o | o/ o/__/ /\ /| | \ \ / \ / \ /o\ / \ / \ / | / \ / \
