The Math Education Trust was established to fund special
projects that will enhance the teaching and learning of
mathematics. NCTM members can nominate candidates for
Lifetime Achievement Awards, and other awards are available
through a competitive process based on proposals submitted
by individual applicants.
Two-year Toyota TIME grants of up to $10,000 each, made
possible by Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. and the
Mathematics Education Trust, will be awarded to 35 United
States K-12 teachers. Applications should demonstrate
creativity and emphasize innovative ways of teaching
mathematics or assessing students' learning. The deadline
for applying is 11 January 2000. For details, see:
