                   SPREADSHEETS IN EDUCATION

  Dr. John Baker and Dr. Steve Sugden are in the process of
  setting up a new electronic journal devoted to the use of
  electronic spreadsheets, such as Microsoft Excel, in
  education.

  This quarterly journal will be fully peer-reviewed. The
  editors invite manuscripts from education professionals who
  make use of spreadsheets for the benefit of their students.

  The editorial board consists of experts from around the
  globe who have published in education generally, and on the
  topic of pedagogical use of spreadsheets, in particular.

  The Online Elementary Mathematics Resource for Mathematics 6 
  is one way Alberta Learning, through the LearnAlberta.ca 
  initiative, is meeting its goal of supporting lifelong 
  learning in the Kindergarten to Grade 12 community.

    - Glossary: Organized alphabetically, the glossary explains
      the mathematical terms used within the program.

    - Operations: This section contains strategies for helping
      students learn their basic number facts. Basic number
      facts are addition and subtraction facts to 18 and
      multiplication and division facts to 81.
