This site is primarily designed to provide useful
information about the New York State Mathematics Test
for teachers, parents, and students.
It also features seven key concepts with activities and
resources developed for each grade K-4:
- Mathematical Reasoning
- Numbers and Numeration
- Operations
- Modeling/Multiple Representation
- Measurement
- Uncertainty
- Patterns and Functions
These resources have been designed as:
- Lessons: Tutorials that students can go through to
gain a better understanding of the individual skills
needed to succeed on the exam.
- Practice: Practice pages for the students to use to see
if they have grasped an understanding of the lesson.
- Interactive: Students can engage in these activities to
help test their knowledge of the skills taught.
- Teacher Resource: Ideas and activities that can be
prepared for the students to help enrich their
understanding of the skills taught.
- Literature Connection: Activities that can be
incorporated into classroom instruction.

MATHEMATICS FOR ALL CONFERENCE

The Math Connections Implementation Center is hosting a
conference entitled "Mathematics for All" at the University
of New Hampshire in Durham, August 7 - 8, 2003.
The conference is intended for high school math teachers,
department chairpersons, supervisors, administrators and
teacher educators. The conference features teachers, math
educators and mathematicians facilitating hands-on math and
technology and computer lab workshops, grade level projects
and activities sessions, investigations and explorations,
and, in parallel, an intensive institute in leadership.
