Convergence is an online magazine for teachers of
grades 9-14 interested in using mathematics history as a
learning and teaching tool. This new publication is
sponsored by the Mathematical Association of America, with
the cooperation of the National Council of Teachers of
Mathematics and funding from the National Science Foundation.
Convergence will include:
- Expository articles on the history of mathematics that
possess a special pedagogical or learning appeal.
- A sharing of classroom experiences.
- Animated mathematical demonstrations that can be
downloaded for classroom use.
- Translations and commentaries of mathematical works
that shed light on mathematical discovery and
understanding.
- Discussions of particular problems from a historical
context.
- Reviews of materials, books, websites and teaching aids

GRAPHING LINEAR EQUATIONS

Suzanne Alejandre at the Math Forum has developed a middle
school lesson using ImagiGraph and a Palm OS handheld to help
students learn about linear equations. The step-by-step
