A Little Logic (5), August 9-22, 1998.

Here's the more difficult logic problem I've been promising. There'll be another in two weeks.

Estéban, Moira, Nadia, and Quentin are different ages (9, 10, 11, 13). Their pets are a canary, a goldfish, a hamster, and a llama. Their homes are a townhouse, an apartment, a farm, and a duplex. Can you figure out each person's age, pet, and home from the clues below?

1. Estéban and the canary owner play on the same team in Little League baseball.

2. Moira and the hamster owner live next door to each other.

3. The goldfish owner is two years older than the girl who lives in the townhouse.

4. The eleven-year-old lives a block away from Quentin, who does not live on the farm.

5. The llama owner's parents won't let her play football.

6. The apartment is two blocks from the nine-year-old's home.

7. Nadia, Moira, and the eleven-year-old sometimes walk to school together.

8. The ten-year-old is a girl.

9. The canary owner is younger than the person who lives in the duplex but is older than Moira.

Good luck!!

This is the last summer logic puzzle (if you'd like another difficult one like this, please send me a request).

Here's the chart I used to solve this logic puzzle. It's a little more complicated than the last one, but it works the same way. If you have trouble following this, you might try looking at the previous summer logic puzzles and their explanations.
