Finding
75 percent of a number
- Choose a number.
- Multiply the number by 3.
- Divide this product by 4.
Example:
- If the number selected is 73:
- Multiply the number by 3: 3 × 73 = 210 + 9 = 219.
- Divide this product by 4: 219/4 = 54.75.
- So 75% of 73 = 54.75.
See the pattern?
- If the number selected is 51:
- Multiply the number by 3: 3 × 51 = 153.
- Divide this product by 4: 153/4 = 38.25.
- So 75% of 51 = 38.25.
