### Multiplying a repeating 1's number by 222

• Choose a repeating 1's number (111, etc.)
• Multiply it by 222
• The product is:
- first two digits are 24.
- next repeating digits are 6's - two fewer than repeating 1's in the original number.
- last two digits are 42.

#### Example:

1. If the first number is 1111:
2. Multiply by 222. The product is:
first two digits are 24: 24.
next repeating digits are 6's, two fewer than repeating 1's in original number: 66.
last two digits are 42: 42.
3. So 1111 × 222 = 246642.

See the pattern?

1. If the first number is 111111:
2. Multiply by 222. The product is:
first two digits are 24: 24.
next repeating digits are 6's, two fewer than repeating 1's in original number: 6666.
last two digits are 42: 42.
3. So 111111 × 222 = 24666642.
With these three steps you will be giving these large products with ease.
