### Multiplying a repeating 8's number by 23

1. Choose a repeating 8's number (888, etc.)
2. Multiply it by 23
3. The product is:
- the first two digits are 20
- the next digits are repeating 4's (two fewer than repeating 8's in the original number)
- the last two digits are 24

#### Example:

1. If the first number is 8888:
2. Multiply by 23. The product is:
- the first two digits are 20
- the next digits are repeating 4's (two fewer than repeating 8's in the original number): 44
- the last two digits are 24
3. So 8888 × 23 = 204424.

See the pattern?

1. If the first number is 8888888:
2. Multiply by 23. The product is:
- the first two digits are 20
- the next digits are repeating 4's (two fewer than repeating 8's in the original number): 44444
- the last two digits are 24
3. So 888888 × 23 = 204444424.
