### Multiplying a repeating 8's number by 44

1. Choose a repeating 8's number (888, etc.)
2. Multiply it by 44
3. The product is:
- the first two digits are 39
- the next digits are repeating 1's (three fewer than repeating 8's in the original number)
- the last three digits are 072

#### Example:

1. If the first number is 8888:
2. The product is:
- the first two digits are 39
- the next digits are repeating 1's (three fewer than repeating 8's in the original number)
- the last three digits are 072
3. So 44 × 8888 = 391072.

See the pattern?

1. If the first number is 88888:
2. The product is:
- the first two digits are 39
- the next digits are repeating 1's (three fewer than repeating 8's in the original number)
- the last three digits are 072
3. So 888888 × 44 = 3911072.
