Generally it is allow to overload arity, so we have no probem with using () unary and () binary:
 (1) = 1 /* unary use of () */ 2  3 = 1 /* binary use of () */
Now the same of S, if the same arity is involved it should denote 100% exactly the same, so you cannot do the following is not simultaneous possible:
S = 0.3+0.03+...+ 3/10^n + ... /* S arity 0 */ S = 0.3+0.03+...+ 3/10^n /* S arity 0 */
But what is possible (sometimes, not always, for example in lambda calculus there is no arity):
S = 0.3+0.03+...+ 3/10^n + ... /* S arity 0 */
S(n) = 0.3+0.03+...+ 3/10^n /* S arity 1 */
So you then have:
S = lim n>oo S(n)
