Why would anyone want to name polygons

I work in an engineering office. You would be (or maybe you wouldn't
be) amazed at the various geometrical contraptions that need naming
(especially by architects).

If something can be logically nomenclatured, categorized, or labelled,
it is a good idea in this 'information age' to name it for the sake of
being named...you never know when someone may ask questions about the
do-ma-flotcher that went to the whats-a-ma-gadget that we worked on
last year.
