Although I may occasionally disagree with some things that Dr. Rubin posts, I've never doubted the sincerity of his beliefs.
I consider the "disclaimer" in his signature file to be fairly standard practive for a faculty member of a prestigious university.
BTW, if Dr. Rubin reads this, I wonder if he might share his views on Dr. William Schmidt's report concerning the 3rd International Math and Science Study. Dr. Rubin and Dr. Schmidt have a common academic specialty in statistics, and DR. Schmit is at Michigan State, which isn't that far removed from Purdue.
