This is a very time-consuming proposition. I know because I've spent
the last 4 years creating my own set of lessons that I use with my
students. I thought I was crazy at times, but now I think it was
worth it because there are some distinct advantages using PowerPoint
in the classroom.
- I am no longer tied to the board or the overhead. I can circulate
around the room and monitor behavior and note-taking.
- Students are more motivated. They believe that they are involved in
something special - the "classroom of the future" as one put it. They
enjoy the animation effects of PowerPoint.
- As a teacher I have the freedom to change anything I don't like.
Unlike videos or other software, I can change what I don't like. I am
always adding to or deleting material from my lessons and making them
better.

You can see what I have created at www.algebrateacher.com
