Math-Learn List colleagues:

The above is a copy of an e-mail sent from my brother to my son, who is
currently pursuing his masters in math/comp sci at West Chester U. Apparently,
they have been discussing possibilities for a master's reseach project. My
brother, a physics major with a career in computers (GE, Honeywell, B.U.L.L.) also
sent a copy of his e-mail to me, and followed up with a phone call suggesting
that I might be interested in checking out several resources he has come
across during their discussion.

The first one I happened to read was

California Dreaming: Reforming Mathematics Education
by Suzanne M. Wilson
Yale University Press, 2003
Cloth, $29.95, 303pp., ISBN 0-300-09432-9

Reviewed by Anthony Ralston in the Notices of the American Mathematical
Society, November 2003.

I thought perhaps others on the list might be interested, as well.
