I agree that the lead time of 2 years is silly. I attended one session on CBL's (were they even *out* two years ago?) and another on the Big Bang (which hadn't even been proven yet).
It is nice to have a complete bulletin with topics and times well in advance, but would anyone object to seeing a lot of topics labeled "To Be Announced"? The veterans at my school say you shouldn't even pick by name, but by presenter! And I must admit that the one all-day session I went to, "The Geometric Ride of Paul Revere", didn't have much to do with Paul Revere, but was very good because of Masunaga and company who were running it.
