Mark, you are asking all the right questions, the questions that all of us
need to ask. I am sure someone will suggest that she has a self-esteem
problem, should get counseling, wasn't eating her breakfast, whatever. BUT
we need to struggle with the things WE can do. I applaud your courage in
asking yourself the hard questions. We all need to be doing this, both
individually and as a profession, if we hope to make a difference in the
lives of ALL of our students.
