From Mark Priniski (excerpt): >What had been done to this bright student over her school carreer? By her >senior year, was it too late to make a difference? Could I have done more? >These are the questions I ask.
Mark, you are asking all the right questions, the questions that all of us need to ask. I am sure someone will suggest that she has a self-esteem problem, should get counseling, wasn't eating her breakfast, whatever. BUT we need to struggle with the things WE can do. I applaud your courage in asking yourself the hard questions. We all need to be doing this, both individually and as a profession, if we hope to make a difference in the lives of ALL of our students.
