students, adequately with advanced students and poorly with the
slower students. The advanced students resented having to
"share" and the slower students were so concerned about
personal problems - like who likes whom - that they couldn't
get along with each other. Has anyone else had this experience?

This is exactly what I meant by "chemistry" in my previous posting to
Ben and Ted. Not only that! In younger age, most advanced students are
willing to share but don't know how and impatient that sometimes will
cause the poor students to withdraw even more, sometimes will even
lead to social problem as you indicated.
