Regarding the discussion of math and music:

I know one interesting report, by Zoltan Dienes, that appeared in the
Journal of Mathematical Behavior, a professional math ed journal that
your library should be able to get for you, if they don't already have

Dienes, Zoltan P., (1987). Lessons Involving Music, Language, and
Mathematics. Journal of Mathematical Behavior, vol. 6, number 2
(August, 1987), pages 171 - 182.

JMB is available from Ablex Publishing Corp., 355 Chestnut Street,
Norwood, NJ 07648
