I know you're working, Murphy Waggoner, you don't have to convince *me*. What I suggest is that it is not obvious to the students. That's why I added the smiley about heaving a few sighs.
How the students perceive your role is important. I work harder for a teacher I know is working and the little kids I teach work harder when they know I'm working too. (Maybe it's that intangible element of teaching success known as 'caring')
