Our school is adopting new text this year. Many of the suggestions
are NSF funded investigative approach, trouble is I still have a
majority of my students in eighth grade who can't add subtract,
multiply or divide using numbers less than 10, Let's not even talk
about fractions or percents.
It is hard to have a discussion of slope if students can't subtract
and realize that the table is changing by 5 or 7.
I need something. I like hands on but what am I to do? Mad minutes
seems like the only path at this point.:~(
