Jacki, Are you aware that literature suggestions are made in the front of each curriculum unit just after the Materials List? Fifth grade actually has 22 suggested books. I know a teacher who did a wonderful literature unit around the Phantom Tollbooth (one of the suggested books for Measurement Benchmarks). Another book that some teachers have used is Math Curse. Powers of Ten which is also in video form can accompany the study of large numbers.
