arithmetic average

I am not a classroom teacher, but I am interested in Investigation
curriculum.

Can someone tell me if the curriculum discusses the idea of
"arithmetic average" (or mean)? If so, in which unit of what grade
level? I have looked in Grade 5 "Data: Kids, Cats, and Ads" unit, but
did not see any discussion on average/mean there.

I will appreciate your response very much.
