I couldn't agree with you more. I love Math and feel that I understand it and yet I find the manuals confusing as well. Overall, I think more graphics, visuals and examples are needed. Also, Investigations should supply an answer key and a rubric for assessments. We give kids all these assignments, activities, and assessments and yet there is not much guidance for assessing the results. For these reasons, I think CMP is a little easier to read. If you haven't looked at a CMP teachers manual, you should as it is very similar to Investigations and was designed by the same people.
I hope CESAME , TERC, and Dale Seymour listen to our consructive criticism.
