I try (not always successfully) to give time each week for games like Close to 100/1000, Capture Five, Multiplication Bingo and Division Bingo. I know I don't have students do these enough. There is a lot of fact practice here. I also send these home for practice, but I know there are some students who don't do them if there is nothing to turn in. Sometimes I have parents sign off that work has been done. I give Mad Minute-type tests on the fact families students are working on. This gives the message that working on facts is important. I do think by the end of fourth grade most students should be able to recall most multiplication facts and should be able to figure out the others efficiently. Barbara
