I think it is beneficial to enlist parental support.I tell my parents at our September Open House that I would like them to practice multiplication facts with their children. I encourage them to make this a routine in their home. I even show them some strategies to use when helping their children remember their tables. I include reminders in my classroom newsletter that the multiplication facts need to be practiced consistently. This is well received by all the parents! I also have flashcards in my room. Students are encouraged to practice with each other during snack or free time. I hold them accountable- they must know their facts!
