What a great idea this game is! I wish I had had the opportunity to learn multiplication this way. It makes perfect sense. It makes it so easy to see how you can use smaller facts to build up to a bigger one. It is a perfect lead-in to using clusters. Kids could easily make up their own clusters using the arrays in this way. It lets them build up to a bigger number, or break apart into smaller numbers interchangeably. This could also be used to help kids come up with clues for their multiplication fact clue cards.
