First LiDIA--Users Conference

Nov. 04 -- 05, 1996, TH Darmstadt, Germany

First Announcement

Note: Only this first announcement is sent to various
mailing lists. If you are interested in the conference please
register to obtain further information (see Pre-Registration section

Since the first release of our C++--library
for computational number theory, LiDIA,
in February 1995 we received a lot of feedback,
positive and negative, and many people gave us
new ideas and asked for the future development
of LiDIA.

Because of the increasing number of LiDIA users
and the continuous interest in the system, we decided
to organize a conference with the main goal to bring
together the users and the developers of LiDIA, and to
discuss the future direction of the system.

Members of our development team will present the
structure and the current status of LiDIA, the way
LiDIA software is developed, and future projects which
will be realized in LiDIA.

Participants are invited to give an overview
on how they use LiDIA and on their experience with LiDIA.
It would be interesting to see the advantages and
disadvantages of LiDIA in the daily work of the users.

In addition to the talks, there will be time to discuss special
topics in small groups and to demonstrate software which
was programmed using LiDIA.

Also software developers of other projects who are
interested in a collaboration with the LiDIA group are
invited to talk about their ideas and to use the opportunity
to discuss projects with our team.
