Greetings from Arkansas! Boy do I feel guilty, we have been out of school since before Memorial Day. I'm teaching summer school during the month of June and will join in discussion as time permits.

One of my main focuses this year was my senior daughter and finishing my masters degree. Both were accomplished!

I continued to use MathTools in my classroom during the school year, primarily on my SmartBoard. I'm still fighting the temptations to just give the steps, etc, instead of allowing discovery time. I find that when I used the virtual manipulatives, students were more engaged and actually excited about learning!

Participating in the ToolFest last summer was a wonderful educational experience that helped me focus more on real learning, vs. just covering it for the 8th grade Benchmark given in March. My students and I both benefited from the experience. I look forward to continuing that growth this summer.
