It's teachers, not curricula that are prepared to make decisions about what is best for kids. Go back, yes, absolutely. On reason Investigations has earned a bad rap is because teachers blindly follow the guide without the content or pedagogical knowledge necessary to make informed and effective instructional decisions. If a doctor prescribed a treatment believing that it wasn't the best option for their patient, she could be sued for malpractice. If a teacher plows forward to keep up the curriculum, rather than the kids, she should be sued for as well.
