We are discussing a one-year Algebra for all and then spreading Geometry and Algebra 2/Trig over 3 years total so that students have an opportunity for the advanced regents diploma. We feel that students who might struggle have a better chance of a 1 year Algebra then a 1 year Algebra 2Trig.

However, I recently heard that the state is recommending that only 1 credit be granted for each of geometry and Alg2 Trig, though 2 credits can be earned from Algebra 1. Does this make sense? Has anyone else heard this?
